چکیده

The proposed article presents the materials of experimental and mathematical studies internal inertial flows an incompressible liquid during its fluctuations in tanks. An analysis modern problems related to harmful effect resonant splashing on tank structures, as well trajectory nature object movement itself with liquid, was carried out. use damping baffles guide devices similar closed allows fundamentally change structure flows, reducing gradients shock pressures redistributing main effects. Numerical modeling such qualitatively confirms results us build a rather complex three-dimensional development picture fluid flows. In addition it is make plane perforated different degrees permeability due diameter holes their number. hydraulic resistance occurs when flow energy lost overcoming artificial obstacles form small diameter. Thus, effects walls are predicted have smaller amplitude duration. dampers labyrinth structures control force only by means thus reduce number dimensions devices.

Simplified Seismic Dynamic Analysis of Sloshing Phenomenon in Rectangular Tanks with Multiple Vertical Baffles

Sloshing is a well-known phenomenon in liquid storage tanks subjected to base or body motions. In recent years the use of multiple vertical baffles for reducing the sloshing effects in tanks subjected to earthquake has not been taken into consideration so much. On the other hand, although some of the existing computer programs are capable to model sloshing phenomenon with acceptable accuracy, t...

A Numerical Modeling for Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Porous Media With Generated Internal Heat Sources

In this paper a numerical method is used to study the unsteady state natural convection heat transfer within a confined porous media with uniform internal heat generation. The governing equations based on the Darcy model and Bossiness approximations are solved, using the finite difference Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) method. The developed program was used to simulate natural convection ...

Numerical modeling of air–fiber flows

The dynamics of fiber suspensions are of great importance in applications such as the dry-forming process of pulp mats for use in hygiene products. In this forming process, fibers are transported in flowing air. The fibers interact with the fluid, and may interact with each other and interlock in flocs. The characteristics of the suspension structure are essential for the design and optimizatio...

Rectangular and Cylindrical TLDs with Rotatable Baffles to Improve Seismic Behavior of Structures, a Numerical Study

One of structural passive control methods is to use Tuned Liquid Damper (TLD). However, because of the nature of the TLD, only one tuning frequency can be created when the water is sloshing. To fix this problem, some installed rotatable baffles can be embedded inside TLD called Variably Baffled TLD (VBTLD) where by changing the angle of the baffles a tuning frequency range is created. This gives ...
